So this morning I get to work and start changing the rubber molds as usual.
floyd asks me if i'd mind helping Julio, the Mexican that works in the metal mold side get the table tops off the pouring table.
So I go over and help him lift them up and move them outside to dry. out of four tops two had stuck to the table.
that is bad. you can't sell a table or bench with a stuck spot on it.
Floyd once told me how much a damaged set would cost me, and I got to thinking about my bench I'm painting on.
The table top has only a small spot where it stuck to the pouring table. Why couldn't I sand it, cover the entire top with a thin layer of concrete topping mix, like they use to pour a mosaic tile inlay onto some pieces,, then sand and paint the entire set, seats and all, and decorate the top with a nice design around the top edge?
no shop I know is willing to do that. Not even the one i work at. They've painted table sets before, but just antiquing them, no patterns or anything.
Also. the good news...
I won an auction today!!! yay!!
now this little baby here is all mine
