this blog is indescribable...O~o
another visit to my world :P
Today I've been working on building trees and such, to import into the zone.
I also made a sky texture practicing the different elements of the game. Its simple, really, but it works ok
I was doing some research for game ideas, and came across something I think I'll use.
I know there's a lot of folks here, that really aren't into blowing stuff up, or shooting, violence etc..
So I'm implementing a 'crafters' faction.
Players will be able to choose a craft, i.e. metalworking, tailoring, furniture building, weapon making etc..
They won't have combat skills, but instead will go on puzzle solving quests in order to get raw materials in order to craft certain items they'll be able to trade or put up for sale in a shop
craftsfolk will be able to mine for ores to use, or
gather wood for building, clays to make bricks and stuff.
Each crafts trade will have different levels of skill, so some craftsmen can make basic items, such as building materials, and the higher levels of the same trade will be able to take these materials and build better items, like make a sturdy chair with the wood a lower craftsman has gathered.
supplies can be bartered for or traded, or right out sold.
I may forgo the currency system and just use the trade system like this, where , for example, the hunters need weapons to hunt, and the craftsmen need materials and raw goods to make stuff.
The hunter goes out, collects materials from the hunt, and trades them to the craftsman , who in return makes them hunting weapons.
The fisherman trades his catch for better fishing supplies, nets, poles, boats and boating supplies, etc..
Haven't decided yet.
But here's some new screen caps of my progress so far. The first is a face texture i made for the in game model. You can also see the sky tex i was playing with.

this one is of one of the trees I made, using the program's tree editor.

and here's more trees.

new update: Here's a video showing the salesman script at work
