endless gas prices
Posted 09-13-2008 at 02:21 AM by bg38
today, here in nc, Gas jumped 20 cents and up, to reach as high as 7.50 a gallon in some of the larger cities.
They are also rationing gas at the stations as well. they won't let you get any more than 10 gallons at a time, due to the refineries closing in Texas.
I think its because the greedy oil companies just want to make as much as they can to replace that which they lost by having to lower prices recently.
I mean, humping from 3.71 to over 4.20 in one day? and by tomorrow its supposed to hit 7 or over everywhere around here.
come on. that is pure unadulterated greed. nothing more..nothing less.
I heard the head oil executives are being called to washington DC to the whitehouse to a meeting about they way they've spiked prices. bull poopies..
The president owns oil in Texas. He sure doesn't want prices to go down. Less money in his pocket.
Everywhere here, places are cutting back on hours to work folks, and yet prices are rising faster than.. well, gas prices.
So, its that old catch 22 again.. can;'t afford to work, can't afford to go home.. what to do, what to do?

Went up here 10 cents a litre. It's almost $1.40 a litre. Which I think is more than the US. Although don't quote me. I'm not good at conversions.
Which is also stupid since we HAVE oil here.
But I'm not going to even get started. No, not me. *takes deep breath*
I actually am fine with the bus. Except I don't get a discounted buspass till next month. It's a new program that you have to commit 6 months to, and you get the cost deducted from your paycheque. Which will be great because I don't even like city driving, and esp. not in the winter!Posted 09-13-2008 at 04:50 AM by Confuzzled1

Gosh...that really sucks! How can that sort of price hike be justified?
Where I live in the UK (Yorkshire) petrol has come down in the past couple of weeks from £1.19 litre (approx. US$2.11) to £1.09 (US$1.93). It's expensive - there's no arguing with that...and my car isn't particularly juicy anyway. But I guess the major difference is that apart from my daughter's school, everything we need is fairly close by. There's no rugged terrain where I live and most of my friends and family live within four or five miles. But still we drive most places - I love to drive, but I'm not sure how long we'll be able to keep going on like this. We're a two-car family and I know my fella would NEVER want to cycle to work.
Some local bus services have been cut and fares increased with the blame being put on fuel prices, which obviously makes it more difficult for people to get around when they are trying to use their cars less! Go figure...Posted 09-13-2008 at 10:03 AM by sasquatch

holy cow.. I'll have to ask my family about the prices where they are. Good thing my sister doesn't really have to DRIVE the kdlets to their babysitters.. they walk lol.
I theoretically can either walk or bike to work but I don't have a bike.. and I live near an interstate. Hmm early AM isn't too bad but afternoon.. nuh uh.
I just don't go anywhwere anymore. Have been watching the jobs too-- I think I'm okay but we'll see.. they haven't hired any new people in months so that's.. worrying.Posted 09-13-2008 at 10:55 PM by Ducky

Gasolin prices
Agree with all the comments!
Further more: I see a life style change to many of us, and more so to our kids and grand kids...It is not just the greed of the oil companies that affects us. It is mostly our dependence on gas...an alternative should be found and our independence regained...Posted 09-14-2008 at 03:16 PM by pearla59
