Today at the shop, I waited on the customers, like usual, and even helped Daniel load some statues as well. one we loaded together weighed in at a little over 800 pounds, and it took both of us to lay it down to load into a cargo trailer.
After we finished loading the truck, I walked into the break room, bought myself a soda, and after a moment's thought, got one for Daniel as well.
I walked back to the mold department where he works, and asked him did he drink pepsi? "yea' he replied, and looked at me ,confused, as i handed him a cold drink
He acted like he didn't know what to think about me after that
I like to keep folks on their toes
I was waiting on a lady, her sister, and her grandson, a little tyke, maybe a little over a year old or so. Old enough not able to talk, but walking really well.
The woman was trying to describe a statue she wanted, to me, and I felt a tug on my pants leg, and , looking down, saw the top of the boy's head, one of his arms wrapped tightly around my leg, and his free hand holding onto his sippy cup.
He was peeking around my leg, looking at everything around him, refusing to let go .
I almost had to limp around the whole time they were there. i thought i would have to pry him off me with a crowbar or something
I was relieved when they left, since the feeling returned in my left leg after the blood flow returned.
I also spoke to another couple not long before closing.
Their son had passed away last April, and they were looking for a monument for his grave in their back yard.
We don't carry anything for people like that, but i approached them as they were leaving and asked them what exactly they were looking for.
The husband explained the situation to me, and i gave him my website and e mail.
I also explained to him about my side endeavors, and offered to make up a prototype for them to look at, and if they like it, i'd make one out of concrete .
They both acted interested, so now I just have to wait for the mto call back and give me the ok to go ahead with the prototype.
