this blog is indescribable...O~o
one for the little guy:D
This is a transcript from an actual call i had today with my mortgage company
Now, a lot of you know they raised my mortgage payment by 200 dollars last month due to 'an escrow shortage' as they put it.
I get this letter Saturday stating they had canceled the insurance they took out on my home, due to the fact I proved I already had insurance.
In fact I had to get it before I even signed the contract, which stats that the taxes, escrow payment, AND Insurance will be taken from my monthly payment.
I called them today, and the lady there admitted they had refunded part of my escrow payment back into my account.
But, she claimed it didn't show I was insured last November.
How do they figure this?? i had to pay a years insurance upfront BEFORE the house was set up.
In THEIR statements they send me, it shows how the payment is broken down into escrow, house payment, interest, taxes, AND INSURANCE.
but, on to the call.
Me = M Them = C ( for chase)
* After several minutes running in circles in the computerized answering system*
C : Thank you for calling Chase home mortgage how may we help you?
*okay, i'll skip all the boring stuff here.. *
M : yea, i got a letter from your insurance department telling me they'd canceled the insurance you put on my house?
I was already insured.
C: we know sir, thats why we canceled it.
M: well, does that mean you had me paying two payments for insurance?
C: Evidentially you were sir. Last month's escrow payment was refunded to your account.
M: So the increase was due to this?
C: yessir it was. We show you had a lapse in insurance last november.
M: How do you figure that? The payment is included in my mortgage each month. Its in my contract that the insurance and taxes are taken out of it.
C: well, we have no sign of you being insured.
M:Well, if my insurance lapsed that means it wasnt paid right?
C: yessir it does
M: well, whoever is in charge of my contract is supposed to pay it. Who has it?
C: we do sir.
M: Why didn't you pay the payment then? I got a letter from my insurance provider wanting to know why you haven't renewed my insurance yet?
C: We paid that yesterday sir.
M: well, I had insurance since day one of living here. I have proof of that.
C: If you can prove it to us sir, we'll fully refund your escrow payments to your account.
M: does that mean my payment goes back to where it was before?
C: Yes it does. Have you insurance agent call us.
M: He already has, THREE times since you bought my contract.
C: we have no record of that.
M: He has a record of each call, plus faxes to you.
C: we have records of the faxes but no calls. have him call us and we'll fix it for you.
M: alright. I'll have him call you first thing tomorrow then.
*click*
I knew something was wrong when it jumped so high. Even the guy I bought it from was surprised when he found out.
So now i wait for the insurance agent to call yet again. With any luck this will drop my payment back to where it was.
Wish me luck guys
