Star of Africa (Cullinan 1) This is the largest diamond in the world, at 530.20 carats. It is now in the Royal Scepter in the Tower of London. This diamond was cut from the 3,106-carat Cullinan—the largest diamond ever found.

With its 3106 carats (more than 600g), the Cullinan is the biggest raw diamond ever discovered. It will be a big factor in the renaming of the Premier mine, near Pretoria, where it was extracted. Offered by South Africa to King Edward VII of England, it is told that it overtook this country in a simple package, whereas it`s glass imitation was forwarded with a good protection. The Cullinan was fragmented into 9 huge rocks and 96 brillants.
