It is an island; a volcano; it is not even close to South America.
Is it in the Atlantic? The pacific? Indonesia?

Looks a bit like Ascension Island

Another possibility is Tristan Da Cunha Island in the South Atlantic one of the most remote places in the world. If this is correct, the place in the picture is the only town/village in the island...
